VCCI (Voluntary Control Council for Interference by Information Technology Equipment)
is a Japanese voluntary Council and not a mandatory EMC requirement,
but it indicates the product has high quality. Importer or manufacturer need
apply as registered member, and then send the product to an approved laboratory
for testing under international or Japanese EMI regulation. After submitted
the report, the product can carry the VCCI marking. There are 2 classes, A and
BClass A is for commercial use while Class B is primarily intended for use in
residential environments.
For wireless products (Bluetooth, mobile phones, WIFI routers, RFID product,
etc.) exported to Japan, TELEC (Telecom Engineering Center) certification is
mandatory The certification laboratory must be approved by TELEC with designated
radio equipment. TELEC is also called MIC certification in Japan TELEC
certification includes Test Certification and Type Certification.
Japan PSE Law and regulations specify mandatory electrical safety and EMI requirements
for electrical products sold in Japan. There are 2 categories, Specified
Electrical Products for Products with a history of accidents in the marketplace,
or products which are likely to cause injury. The tests and approval must
be carried out by an accredited lab and carry a diamond PSE mark.
Non-Specified Electrical Products is for Low-risk products and are subject to a
self-declaration scheme. It is a circle PSE mark.
