How does the WEEE Directive help to reduce waste from manufacturing?

It is to promote re-use, recycling and other forms of recovery of WEEE(Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive) in order to
reduce the quantity of waste to be disposed and to improve the environmental performance. The WEEE Directive sets criteria for the collection, treatment and
recovery of waste electrical and electronic equipment.
Effected from 2005 for control of electronic waste dispose and recycling which
is responsible by the product importer. In product level, it needs clearly stated
the material use and a recycle wheelie bin marked on the product.
